Robin Edwards is a Chartered Accountant and a Fund Manager who for fifteen years managed one of Europe’s largest global macro funds. More recently he has become involved as a director and shareholder in a number of businesses which benefit from his commercial and financial background.
He is founder and non-executive director of Sabre Fund Management Limited, one of Europe’s longest established hedge fund managers. He set up Sabre in 1982 and has gained significant experience managing money across a range of instruments and markets including equities, fixed income, commodities and foreign exchange, and helped to pioneer the development of structured products in the hedge fund market.
Through Maxim Fund Management Limited Robin manages a fund which invests across a broad spectrum of asset classes using physical markets, derivatives and leverage to maximise returns and minimise risk. This company also assists organisations with theircapital raising and refinancing activities and recently completed a $100 million refinancing, working with global financial institutions and investment banks to complete the transaction.
Robin is also Chairman of Cresta Homes PLC a property development and investment group of companies operating around the UK. He provides strategic direction/corporate oversight for the Group and assists with the financing requirements (equity and debt) for the company’s pipeline of development projects. The group also has several renewable energy projects within the UK.
Prior to entering the fund management industry, Robin practised as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen LLC in London and as a management consultant in Australia. He is also a Trustee of Policy Exchange, the leading political think-tank, chairman of Queen’s Gate Ward Conservative Association and a director of The Queen’s Club, Central London’s premier lawn tennis and rackets club.

Niall Marriott is a specialist in sustainability risk management, corporate responsibility and cross-sector partnership. A zoologist by training, he has worked extensively with the private sector, government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) developing collaborative strategies for managing sustainable development challenges, particularly biodiversity conservation. He has extensive experience of working in Africa, South America, South East Asia, and Central and Eastern Europe, in addition to the UK.
In addition to his own consultancy, Niall Marriott Associates, Niall is a founder-director of the Cambridge-based international sustainability consultancy, The Helical Group, which specialises in providing sustainability risk management services to companies managing investments in socially and environmentally fragile and challenging operating environments.
Prior to entering environmental consultancy, Niall was a director of London-based international environmental charity Living Earth Foundation which he co-founded in 1988. In 2005, he became a trustee of the Foundation. He is also an associate of The Partnering Initiative of the International Business Leaders Forum.
